Where family and friends are welcome for a hot cup of virtual coffee and lots of gupshup……..

Hi! This is my virtual coffee house where everyone is welcome for some hot virtual coffee and lots of gupshup. We all meet here for virtual Adda and gupshup with a hot cup of coffee and snacks.

Although the word 'Adda' exists in many Indian languages but the essence of this word is essentially Bengali which refers to relaxed conversation about anything and everything under the sun and is synonymous with Bengali culture and tradition.

Adda usually takes place among friends, colleagues or relatives and is usually rounded off by the serving of exquisitely prepared snacks and a hot cup of tea or coffee. Many literary magazines and works have taken shape out of these discussions.

However, the Addas in Kolkata are substantially cultural or intellectual. Sri Gopal Haldar appreciated this in his 'Adda' – a collection of essays (on various subjects including Adda).

Creative writers have always played the pivotal role in these brain-storming Adda sessions.

Hence, Adda is synonymous with the carefree, frisky attitude of the participants – their intense ardour to enjoy life and whisk time through long talking sessions. An Adda is indeed the purest and simplest way of refreshment and enjoyment with no gainful purpose.

Looking around the globe we find that from whether its Egyptians or Turks chilling out with a cup of coffee or the Americans guzzling bear in a pub – everybody is found relieved and relaxed, relieved and deeply engrossed in a typical 'Adda' mood, sometime or the other. In cities and towns, these grew in modified form in later years. And now, when almost everything is virtual, how can the coffee house be left behind? So, this is our own coffee house where all of you are welcome with open arms.

Kudos to our Coffee House.
